Carousel Dinner

Should be made mandatory every year. Mister is always prepared for an excuse to dine at Carousel so the cybergamerbrother's birthday was a good one. Except we had to do an advanced one since his actual birthday would expect most restaurants to be filled with lovebirds.

Potential Makcik's Hangout

From my mobile blog:

You know you are becoming a member of the makcik\ah-soh community when you squeal upon seeing a big green neon signage that reads "Giant" on a nearby newly-renovated reopened mall.

---------------------------------------
So Mister and I dropped by this evening, being the huge fan of beef that he is, of course his sole intention was to check out the halal meat counter inside Giant itself. And we met another expectation, Banquet, which is not open yet but already listed on the directory. And to top it off, good news for the kids, a Splash Park too, soon.

Weekend hypermarket date anyone?

Wonder-ffle

Sunday morning breakfast. Instant/frozen is not always a bad idea. These ready-made waffles only needed to slide down the bread toaster and they're crispy good to eat.

Don't forget maple syrup.

Mollusk

The doorbell rang yesterday and I opened to find Neighbour wanting to hand me a bag of mollusks.

He asked if we eat them but I only stared blankly before running off to call Matriarch who got excited upon seeing that she cleaned and boiled them right away. Not exactly right away lah.. she left them in the kitchen sink for a bit. That was when I carried Munchkin to show her the gross-looking, sluggish thingy crawling out. I said "Look Sarah, it's Gary(of Spongebob Squarepants)!" *insert murmurings: what is she teaching her kids?!* Anyway, she screamed out of disgust while trying to move her upper half as far away from the sink as she could.

I was hesitant about putting anything that gross-looking into my mouth but curiosity compelled me. Now I want more. What exactly is siput gong-gong called in English??

I could only find this-
Conchs, Slugs, and Snails: Class Gastropoda

You're Being Watched

I often observe how the other people around me eat their half-boiled eggs. Most of them dip their toast, some slurp off the saucer and few spoon into their mouth. How do you eat yours?

Oatmealed

Just because my cousin had an entry that reminded me of how I love oatmeal. Did mine a bit different this morning. With fresh milk boiled with a teeny bit of demerara sugar, served with mixed berries and drizzled with maple syrup.

Beef for Buka

If there're only two items of consumption that my man is passionate about, it's teh and steak. So the kitchen was his yesterday.

Strawberry Story

My favourite workmate, Anita, is always feeding me anything with strawberry content, knowing my weakness for them.

And they've all been damn bloody good.

Unintentional Dad's Day Dinner

Unintentional because it was supposed to be a birthday dinner but it fell on Dad's Day. Plus it was partially my brother's (who has been a dad for almost 11 years) treat so it turned out more of a Dad's Day Dinner at the Carousel. Matriarch had always suggested dinner there but it is constantly fully-booked so we managed to do a way advanced booking for last Sunday.

My brother the Midnight Hero (he only sleeps in the day) with Munchkin and my niece.

Me as the dugong. I've lost my collar bones and jawline. We'll work something out later.

Strawberry Fields Forever

There is always a place in my heart (and dish) for strawberries. They trigger some kind of a happy chi in me. Munchkin loves them as they are, Mister loves them in his cereal and oatmeal although he doesn't really eat them (he loves his food pretty).

While we're at that title, let's squeeze in a youtube (although the song has zero to do with strawberries).

Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles.
